Job summary

GrainCorp is seeking a permanent Maintenance Fitter to join the Horsham or Warracknabeal team. You’ll perform mechanical servicing, maintenance, and upgrades on fixed and mobile plant, with travel to surrounding sites as needed.

The role supports shutdowns and functions from a site-based team in Horsham/Warracknabeal. Qualified tradespeople with relevant experience in mechanical fitting, diesel mechanics, and safe work practices are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in mechanical, fitting and turning, boiler maker or similar.
• Diesel mechanic experience highly regarded.
• Proven fault-finding capabilities and safety focus.
• Computer literate with good time management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Attend to equipment faults and breakdowns as they occur.
• Prepare maintenance reports and document work.
• Record-keeping using SAP Maintenance for compliance and data integrity.

About the role

We are seeking a permanent Mechanical Trade qualified Fitter to join the team located at either Horsham or Warracknabeal due to a team member retiring. There will also be some travel to surrounding sites as required. This role will see you responsible for a broad range of mechanical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades of fixed and mobile plant and equipment. This role will provide the opportunity to assist in managing shutdowns. GrainCorp has training and development pathways that encourage participation and personal development.

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance tasks including:

• Fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Attending to equipment failure or breakdowns as they may occur
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports as requested
• Record keeping using our SAP Maintenance platform for compliance

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has a relevant trade certificate in mechanical, fitting and turning, boiler maker or similar -added experience with being a diesel mechanic will be highly regarded. You will have proven fault-finding capabilities and be proactive and safety focused. Computer literate, self-motivated and reliable, you’ll have solid time management abilities and a high standard of communication. The ability to work at heights and within confined spaces is required. Qualifications for these tasks would be preferred.
