Job summary

Optimal Workforce is seeking Production Operators for a hands-on role based in Frenchs Forest, NSW. You will assist in the manufacture of cable assemblies, following detailed drawings and production instructions with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

Join a close-knit team to perform assembly, wiring, and test tasks in a structured environment. You will read schematics, use a range of tools, and contribute to lean and 5S workplace standards while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

Job description

Due to sustained growth, a well established manufacturing organisation is expanding its production capability and is looking for Production Operators to join its team based in Frenchs Forest, 2086.

This business specialises in the manufacture of custom built interconnect and cable assembly solutions.

You will be involved in the hands‑on manufacture of specialised cable assemblies, working from detailed technical documentation and following defined production and quality processes. This role offers variety, structure, and the chance to work on products where accuracy really matters.

You will be part of a close knit production team, contributing to both individual builds and flow‑line assembly work.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assemble cable and harness products in line with technical drawings and job instructions
  • Interpret wiring schedules, schematics and production documentation
  • Operate a range of hand tools and machinery used in cable preparation and assembly
  • Perform soldering tasks to a high standard (micro‑soldering advantageous)
  • Complete production records accurately to ensure traceability and compliance
  • Work to strict quality, safety and workmanship standards
  • Maintain clean, organised workstations in line with Lean and 5S principles
  • Support team targets by collaborating effectively with colleagues
What We Are Looking For
  • Previous experience assembling cable harnesses and wiring assemblies is desirable or similar
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Hands‑on experience with crimping, stripping and cable cutting equipment
  • Soldering experience and familiarity with LF and RF cable assemblies
  • Ability to confidently read and follow technical drawings and instructions
  • Strong focus on detail, quality and consistency
  • A reliable team player with good communication skills
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a structured environment
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
  • Physical & Practical Requirements
  • Good eyesight (with corrective lenses if required)
  • No colour vision impairment
  • Ability to work comfortably in both seated and standing positions
