Job summary

Solace Electrical Pty Ltd is seeking a 3rd/4th year electrical apprentice for full-time permanent work on diverse commercial and retail fitouts across the Gold Coast and Brisbane. You will be part of a small team, completing rough-ins, fit-offs, lighting, power and data tasks with occasional travel throughout Queensland and Northern NSW.

Applicants should have a White Card, CPR/LVR and a current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

About Solace Electrical

Solace Electrical is a Gold Coast-based electrical contracting business specialising in retail and commercial fitouts.

We work directly with national contractors, delivering shops, medical clinics, hospitality venues and commercial refurbishments across South East Queensland and Northern NSW.

If you’ve been through Pacific Fair, Robina, Carindale, Chermside, Sunshine Plaza or Kawana recently, there’s a good chance you’ve walked past some of our work.

We’re a small business, so the people we employ matter. We’re looking for a 3rd/4th year apprentice who takes pride in their work, can work with a small team and other contractors and is someone we can rely on onsite.

The role

You will deliver diverse and challenging projects with exciting commercial and retail fitouts, alongside a variety of other electrical tasks. We generally service the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with occasional travel throughout Queensland and Northern NSW.

The type of work

• New tenancy fit outs — full rough-in and fit-off, lighting, power, data and comms, containment, exit and emergency lighting, shopfront and signage supply.
• Defits, strip-outs and make safe.
• Switchboard work — DB installations, alterations and upgrades, mains and submains.
• Specialised installations — including body-protected areas (AS/NZS 3003) in medical and skin clinic tenancies.
• Hospitality and licensed venues — including tavern and hotel refurbishments, often while venues remain operational.
• Testing and handover
• Most work is around Gold Coast and Brisbane, with regular travel around Queensland and northern NSW. Overtime is available when required, with travel, overtime and penalty rates paid in accordance with the award.
