Job summary

Fyfe seeks an Electrical & Controls Engineer for our Infrastructure Team in Sydney or Brisbane to lead from concept design through to detailed design, procurement support, construction assistance, and commissioning.

You will prepare electrical deliverables, support LV design, and develop instrumentation/control packages for water, wastewater, mining, and industrial facilities, coordinating with process and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Medium Voltage/Low Voltage electrical design.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Demonstrated experience in I&C design.
• Ability to contribute across all project phases from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical and control system deliverables (single line diagrams, I/O schedules, panel layouts).
• Support LV design activities including cable sizing and load inputs.
• Produce clear technical inputs for design reports and specifications.
• Develop instrumentation and control design packages for facilities.
• Coordinate controls with process, mechanical and operations stakeholders.
• Contribute to safety reviews and constructability reviews.

Fyfe is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer in our Infrastructure Team based in Sydney or Brisbane to provide concept design through to detailed design, procurement support, construction assistance and commissioning support. Key responsibilities

Prepare and check electrical and control system deliverables including single line diagrams, network architecture drawings, I/O schedules, cable schedules, loop drawings, termination drawings, panel layouts, datasheets and bills of material

Support LV design activities including cable sizing, cable containment sizing, reticulation diagrams, generator sizing and electrical load inputs

Use engineering design tools such as Elecdes where required to produce consistent drawings and schedules

Prepare clear technical inputs for design reports, specifications and design review packs

Develop instrumentation and control design packages for water, wastewater, mining and industrial facilities

Coordinate controls requirements with process, mechanical and operations stakeholders

Support or prepare engineering studies such as arc flash, EMI and EMF assessments where assigned

Contribute to Safety in Design reviews, HAZOP, CHAZOP, constructability reviews and close-out of discipline actions

Identify design risks early and communicate clear mitigation actions

Deliver assigned work packages to agreed scope, schedule and budget

About you

Proven experience in Medium Voltage/Low Voltage electrical design

Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards

Demonstrated experience in I&C design

Confidence contributing across all project phases, from concept and schematic design through to detailed delivery

Experience in working on complex infrastructure projects is highly regarded

Collaborative approach and clear communication style when working with engineers, clients and consultants
