Job summary

SANY Group is expanding its Brisbane-based team to support electric road trucks and heavy vehicles. The role focuses on technical support, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and on-site service to ensure vehicle reliability and customer satisfaction.

The candidate will work with high-voltage systems, battery tech, and powertrains, with travel within Queensland and occasional interstate. A trade qualification and EV experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics or automotive electrical related field.
• Experience servicing/heavy-duty trucks or EVs is required.
• Knowledge of high-voltage systems and fault finding is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair electric heavy trucks.

As part of our continued growth in Australia, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Electric Heavy Truck / Road Truck Service Engineer to join our team, based in Brisbane.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, troubleshooting and after-sales service for SANY electric road trucks and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

This role involves working with advanced electric vehicle technologies, including high-voltage battery systems, electric powertrains, charging systems and vehicle control systems, ensuring vehicle reliability, safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on electric heavy trucks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical and high-voltage battery system faults.
• Maintain and repair electric powertrains, motors, inverters, charging systems and vehicle control systems.
• Provide on-site technical support and after-sales service to customers.
• Conduct vehicle commissioning, preventative maintenance and technical assessments.
• Respond to customer service requests and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work closely with the sales, parts and service teams to support business operations.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, particularly high-voltage electrical safety procedures.

Skills & Requirements

• Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive Electrical, Automotive Technology or a related field.
• Experience in servicing and repairing heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles or electric vehicles (EVs).
• Knowledge of high-voltage battery systems, electric motors, inverters and vehicle electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with vehicle electronic control systems and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical support in the field.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Current Australian driver's licence (Heavy Vehicle Licence preferred).
• Willingness to travel within Queensland and occasionally interstate as required.
