Job summary

face2face Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Project Manager to support a major Department of Defence project in Canberra. You will coordinate activities, manage schedules and risks, develop strategic documentation, and work with sponsors and senior stakeholders.

Occasional travel is possible. Requirements include 6+ years of PM experience, strong governance and reporting capabilities, and NV1 security clearance.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced EL1 Project Manager to support a major project within the Department of Defence.

The role will support the delivery of physical and digital infrastructure designed to strengthen innovation, science and technology capabilities. You will coordinate project activities, manage schedules, risks and issues, develop strategic documentation and work closely with sponsors, delivery teams and senior stakeholders.

You will also contribute to governance, assurance and reporting activities, with occasional travel potentially required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly integrated project team meetings and project engagements
• Develop strategic briefs, business cases, plans and project artefacts
• Manage project schedules, risks and issues with key stakeholders
• Engage delivery areas on physical and digital infrastructure planning
• Support governance, assurance, reporting and project decision-making
• Prepare briefs and updates for senior leadership and governance committees

Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of demonstrated project management experience in complex environments
• Strong strategic writing and ability to develop high-quality project artefacts
• Experience managing project schedules, risks, issues and dependencies
• Strong stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Experience supporting project governance, assurance and reporting
• Excellent communication, coordination and organisational skills

Existing NV1 security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
