Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited’s Kalamia Mill seeks an Engineering Superintendent – EIC to lead Electrical, Instrumentation & Control maintenance across the site, driving safety, reliability, and efficiency. You’ll oversee planning, budgets and asset strategies in a hands-on leadership role.

You will develop your team, manage risk-based maintenance, and work with SAP for maintenance work flow while shaping capital planning for long-term site performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Electrical/Instrumentation) or equivalent hands on industry experience.
• Electrical trade licence.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering or trade-based role within a heavy industrial or continuous processing environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and build effective working relationships across site.
• Strong understanding of reliability and maintenance practices, including risk-based maintenance and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience working with engineering standards, Australian Standards, and relevant Codes of Practice.
• Proven ability to manage maintenance systems and work management processes (ideally SAP).
• Desirable: Previous experience in the sugar or similar process manufacturing industry.
• Desirable: Proficiency in SAP for maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting.
• Desirable: Exposure to capital project delivery and engineering project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EIC) maintenance team to ensure safe and reliable mill operations
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities, including shutdowns and day‑to‑day operational support during crush
• Manage the EIC maintenance budget and support longer-term asset and capital planning
• Work closely with operations, reliability, and scheduling teams to prioritise work and minimise downtime
• Lead, coach, and develop your team while driving strong safety, performance, and continuous improvement outcomes
