Job summary

Otis Elevator Company in Perth seeks an experienced EH&S Specialist to support safety across WA and SA. You will lead by example and embed best-practice safety across the region.

Reporting to the EH&S Director, Australasia, you will implement management systems, lead incident investigations, deliver training and drive risk-control initiatives across WA and SA. You’ll monitor performance, build safety culture, and collaborate with operations, contractors and leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma in OHS (or related field).
  • 3–5 years EH&S experience in high‑risk environments (e.g. construction, lifts, facilities management).
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO 45001.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide EH&S leadership by influencing, coaching and supporting leaders, supervisors and field teams to achieve safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain Otis EH&S management systems, project EH&S plans and corporate programs, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, company standards and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Identify, assess and control workplace risks through proactive field engagement, inspections, audits, risk assessments and targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, fatality prevention audits and assurance activities to verify compliance with WHS legislation, ISO 45001 requirements and Otis policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring injuries, near misses, hazards and property damage events are thoroughly investigated, corrective actions are implemented, and lessons learned are shared across the business.
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks, communications and change initiatives that build capability and reinforce safe work practices, critical risk controls and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  • Provide practical EH&S advice and coaching to operational teams, supporting effective decision‑making, risk management and the consistent application of safety standards.
  • Monitor and report on EH&S performance, analysing trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting leaders to achieve safety objectives.
  • Participate in critical risk and fatality prevention programs, engaging with employees, contractors and stakeholders to strengthen safety culture and operational discipline.
  • Participate in risk reduction and process improvement initiatives
  • Support workers' compensation and return-to-work activities, partnering with leaders, employees and external providers to facilitate safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

We’re seeking an experienced EH&S Specialist based in Perth to support and partner with our operational teams across Western Australia (WA) and South Australia (SA).

In this permanent full time role, you’ll report to the EH&S Director, Australasia, and work as part of the Australasia EH&S Team, embedding best‑practice safety across the region.

What you’ll do

In this visible, hands‑on role, you will lead by example to foster a proactive safety culture, build engagement, and deliver our corporate EH&S programs across WA and SA.

What you will need to have
  • Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma in OHS (or related discipline).

  • 3-5 years EH&S experience in high‑risk environments (e.g. construction, lifts, facilities management, engineering).

  • Trade experience and qualifications will be preferable.

  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO 45001.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management capability.

  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

  • It will be an added advantage if you’ve supported geographically dispersed field teams and are comfortable with intrastate travel across WA and SA.
