Job summary

Otis Elevator Company in Adelaide seeks a Construction Technician to install lifts, escalators, and travelators in compliance with codes and Otis specifications. This permanent role reports to the Construction Project Manager and collaborates with installers, electricians, adjusters and field engineers to deliver safe, on-time installations across the Adelaide region.

Candidates should have an electrical trade qualification, 5+ years experience, working at heights, rigging and dogging, a valid

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and 5+ years as Construction Technician.
• Working at Heights, Rigging and Dogging experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to travel to regional Adelaide occasionally.
• Strong communication with stakeholders at varied levels.
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks and complete them timely.

Responsibilities

• Install and modernise lifts, escalators, travelators to safety and env standards, meeting service targets.
• Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service/handover with the Project Manager.
• Occasional travel to regional Adelaide.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials and safeguard property.
• Work per lift industry codes, standards, and the Quality System.
• Comply with EHS policies and report conditions impacting environment or staff.

We are looking for a Construction Technician to be based in and around Adelaide, South Australia.

About You

You will be the face of the OTIS brand and responsible for Installing lifts, escalators, and travelators in compliance with the relevant codes and Otis specifications and procedures.

This permanent role will be reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with other Installers, Electricians, Adjusters & Field Engineers as well as Construction Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and Modernise lifts, escalators, and travelators and work to the highest safety and environmental standards while meeting service targets.
• Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service / handing over inspection in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Occasional travel to regional Adelaide.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials properly and safeguard such property.
• Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes and standards and maintain and work to the Quality System.
• Comply with the company's Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact on the environment or any employee.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Have a Electrical trade qualification or equivalent.
• Min 5 years work experience as a Construction Technician.
• Have Working at Heights, Rigging and Dogging experience.
• Hold a valid driver's license
• Be available for occasional travel to regional Adelaide and able to work unsupervised.
• Enjoys communicating with various stakeholders at different levels and working closely with others in the field.
• Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.
• Able to plan and prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
