Job summary

Kool Beanz Byron Bay is seeking an exceptional Educational Leader / Assistant Director (2IC) to combine pedagogical leadership with operational excellence. You will mentor educators, drive high-quality outcomes and support the Centre Director to lead a thriving service.

This role blends educational leadership with centre operations, offering leadership development and opportunities to influence every aspect of the service in Byron Bay.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Educational Leader, Assistant Director or Senior Leadership role.
• Minimum of 2–3 years experience in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, EYLF and Assessment & Rating.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop educators.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Confidence balancing educational leadership with operational responsibilities.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Current Working with Children Check/Blue Card (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Educational Leadership and mentoring of educators to deliver high-quality programs.
• Embedding the EYLF, NQS and Kool Beanz pedagogy across the centre.
• Coaching through planning cycles, documentation and intentional teaching.
• Driving continuous improvement and contributing to the centre's QIP.
• Monitoring programming and supporting reflective practice across rooms.
• Build educator capability through professional development and coaching.
• Support the Centre Director with day-to-day operations and staffing.
• Act as Responsible Person and Centre Director when required.
• Foster relationships with families and the local community.
• Support occupancy, enrolments and centre growth initiatives.
