Job summary

Eden Academy Palm Beach is seeking an Educational Leader to mentor educators, lead curriculum development and model reflective practice across a 101 place service. The role supports the service leadership team to uphold the National Quality Framework and drive continuous improvement in the Educational Program and Practice.

The successful candidate will champion child-led, responsive approaches, link floor books with OWNA, and nurture strong partnerships with children and families while modelling

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQF and NQS.
  • Experience using OWNA for observations and planning.
  • Experience implementing floor books as child-centered records.
  • Ability to mentor educators and lead reflective practice.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor educators and influence practice in curriculum development.
  • Support and strengthen the Educational Program and Practice.
  • Collaborate with service leadership to ensure NQF compliance and QIP progress.

Job description

Are you an experienced and passionate early childhood professional who is ready to lead, inspire and strengthen educational practice? Eden Academy Palm Beach is seeking a strong, knowledgeable and highly motivated Educational Leader to support our educators and continue driving high-quality pedagogy across our 101 place service, operating 6:30am - 6:30pm. This is an important leadership position within our centre. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply manage a program, but who can mentor educators, influence practice, encourage critical thinking and help create meaningful learning experiences for children. About the Role
  • As the Lead Educator and Educational Leader, you will play a key role in mentoring educators, supporting curriculum development, and fostering a positive, collaborative learning environment. You will work closely with the service leadership team to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework and continuous improvement across the service.
  • A key focus of the role will be strengthening our approach toEducational Program and Practice, supporting educators to develop meaningful, responsive and child-led programs that demonstrate the full planning cycle.
  • Our service uses OWNA alongside floor books, and we are looking for someone who understands how these can work together to capture children's learning without unnecessary duplication or documentation for documentation's sake.
  • You will support educators to move beyond activity- or theme-based programming and develop programs that genuinely reflect children's voices, interests, strengths, relationships, emerging ideas and learning.
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)& the QKLG.
  • A strong understanding of the planning cycle - observing, analysing learning, planning, implementing, reflecting/evaluating and extending children's learning.
  • Demonstrated experience using OWNA, including observations, learning documentation, planning and reflection.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining floor books as meaningful working documents that capture children's voices, investigations, learning and evolving ideas.
  • The ability to effectively connect floor-book documentation and OWNA so that they complement one another rather than create unnecessary duplication.
  • Experience supporting child-led, responsive and emergent curriculum approaches.
  • A strong understanding of intentional teaching, critical reflection, assessment for learning and meaningful documentation.
  • The ability to mentor educators to strengthen their programming and professional practice.
  • Confidence facilitating professional conversations and encouraging educators to reflect on why they do what they do.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback respectfully and professionally.
  • The ability to work with educators at different stages of their careers, from trainees and new educators through to experienced Diploma-qualified educators and ECTs.
  • Strong organisation, initiative and follow-through.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, respectful relationships and genuine partnerships with children and families.
  • The ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute meaningfully to the service’s QIP and continuous improvement journey.
  • A willingness to receive feedback, reflect on their own leadership and continually develop professionally.
