Job summary

Caulfield Grammar School is seeking a Casual Café Assistant to join the student-led café at the Caulfield Campus. The role blends hospitality with learning, supporting students in gaining real-world experience in the Café Program.

You will manage food orders, stock control, deliveries and maintain kitchen safety and cleanliness, with rosters across weekdays during term time. This role offers a chance to contribute beyond standard hospitality while supporting student learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with Practical Food Hygiene.
• Previous exposure to Food preparation.
• The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
• Any relevant Food or Hospitality qualifications would be desirable.
• First Aid Certificate would be advantageous.
• Employment Working with Children’s Check.

Responsibilities

• Support students with curriculum-based Learning Outcomes for the Cafe Program.
• Collaborate with the Café Manager to guide and evaluate student performance.
• Prepare food trays/trolleys for practical classes as needed.
• Collaborate with Café Manager for food orders and procure additional goods as necessary.
• Ensure proper storage of fruit, vegetables and cold items.
• Participate in stock-takes and attend meetings.
• Provide general support during special events such as School Open Days.
• Purchase of goods not included in bulk orders as required.
• Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
