Job summary

TAFE NSW is seeking motivated Education Support Officers to support the National TAFE Network (NTN) Remote Student Support project on a casual basis. This role is campus-based across 26 regional NSW locations, including Jindabyne.

You will greet and assist students onsite, help navigate technology and resources, participate in orientation activities, and provide ongoing education support and pastoral care throughout their learning journey. This is a hands-on, onsite role and not remote.

Qualifications

• Certificate III qualification or higher in any discipline.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to assist students with technology (Microsoft Office) and digital tools.

About the Role

We are seeking motivated Education Support Officers to support the National TAFE Network (NTN) Remote Student Support project on a casual basis.

We are seeking Education Support Officers on a casual basis to play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for TAFE NSW students across all courses at the following campus locations - Batemans Bay, Byron Bay, Cootamundra, Corowa, Cowra, Deniliquin, Finley, Gunnedah, Hay, Jindabyne, Leeton, Macksville, Moore, Murwillumbah, Nambucca, Narrabri, Narrandera, Parkes, Queanbeyan, Singleton, Temora, Tomaree, Wauchope, Yamba, Yass and Young.

This role focuses on general education support rather than a single subject area, ensuring every student feels valued and equipped for success. You will greet and assist students onsite, participate in orientation activities, and provide ongoing education support and pastoral care throughout their learning journey. Your responsibilities include helping students navigate technology, access resources, and progress in their studies, all while fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere. This is a hands-on, campus-based role that cannot be performed remotely, and is central to ensuring local students have the tools and confidence to achieve their goals.

NOTE: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.

About You

You are approachable, adaptable and people-focused, with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed. You build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, provide excellent customer service, and confidently support students to use technology, including Microsoft Office and other digital tools. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, you can respond to changing student needs, remain calm under pressure, and use initiative and problem-solving skills to help learners overcome challenges and stay on track.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Certificate III qualification or higher in any discipline, reflecting your experience as an adult learner. Your patience, flexibility and ability to motivate and encourage others will make you a valued member of the TAFE NSW team.
