Job summary

Council Jobs in Canberra seeks an experienced Project Manager within the Education Projects and Property Upgrades team. You will oversee delivery of school upgrades, new builds, and accessibility improvements, aligning with ACT public service standards.

The role focuses on asset and capital works management, procurement oversight, and centralised reporting, with a six‑month temporary appointment and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia.
• Hold a relevant building degree.
• Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
• Current Australian Class C driver’s license.
• Experience in the delivery of projects using a GC21 contract.
• White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Silica Awareness training.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects to deliver education infrastructure upgrades and new schools.
• Oversight of asset and capital works management for properties Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR) is custodian of.
• Provide technical advice and manage procurements for capital works and upgrades.
• Support centralised reporting and contract planning for capital works.
