Job summary

The Victorian Auditor-General's Office (VAGO) is seeking a Manager, Editing and Production to lead the editorial and production of our reports, briefs and digital content from the Publishing team within Parliamentary Reports & Services.

You will partner with audit teams, editors, designers and stakeholders to deliver clear, accurate and accessible products that support Parliament and the Victorian community.

Qualifications

• Experience leading editorial and publishing projects.
• Ability to transform complex information into accessible content.
• Strong editing, proofreading and quality assurance skills.
• Experience with standards and templates in publishing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end editorial and production of VAGO reports and publications, ensuring high-quality outcomes are delivered on time.
• Provide expert editing, copyediting, proofreading and formatting advice across a diverse range of complex and technical content.
• Coordinate publishing schedules, workflows and quality assurance processes, proactively managing risks and competing priorities.
• Partner with editors, graphic designers and engagement teams to deliver publications that are clear, accessible, visually engaging and fit for purpose.
• Maintain and improve publishing templates, guidelines and editorial standards to support consistent, compliant and user-focused products.
• Provide advice, coaching and resources to strengthen writing and editorial capability across VAGO and promote best-practice communication.
