Job summary

Neap Education Pty Ltd is seeking a self-motivated editor to join our team in a flexible full-time role, based in Melbourne. You will liaise with authors and colleagues to create accurate, curriculum-aligned resources for secondary school teachers across Australia.

Responsibilities include managing production from copyediting to prepress, and creating print and digital materials with accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in publishing or related field.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro).
• Strong English language and editing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of trial exams and assessment resources (print and digital) from copyediting to prepress.
• Copyedit, typeset and proofread manuscripts to curriculum standards across states.
• Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts and editorial staff to ensure high-quality resources.

We are seeking a self-motivated editor with an eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work to join a like-minded team of dedicated staff.

What we are looking for

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the publishing industry or related profession
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro)
• Meticulous attention to detail and grasp of English
• A desire to collaborate and learn with colleagues as well as enthusiasm to work independently and manage projects
• A Master in Publishing and Editing or similar qualification is desirable but not required.
