We will appoint at Project Editor or Senior Project Editor level, depending on your experience.

About the role
Reporting to the Editorial Manager, you will manage your own projects through the full editorial process, from manuscript to print and digital launch. As well as keeping projects on time, on budget and to a high standard, you will help make sure every resource stays true to the Little Learners Love Literacy® program.
What you will do
Manage your projects from manuscript to launch, keeping to agreed schedules and budgets and flagging risks early.
Brief and manage freelance editors, proof readers, illustrators and designers.
Carry out structural and copyediting on print and digital resources and marketing materials, and write some marketing copy.
Prepare manuscripts for design, including styling in Word, writing artwork, design and cover briefs, and collating reference materials.
Check page proofs and collate corrections from internal and external stakeholders; check printer’s proofs and production copies.
Work with authors and consultants to refine manuscripts and products
Work closely with our Digital Product Manager to brief and check digital products across various platforms
Look after permissions, ISBNs and product data, and archiving for your projects.
Manage the reprints process
Report on project progress at our weekly work-in-progress meetings.
At Senior Project Editor level, you will work with greater independence, taking full ownership of your projects through to launch, coordinating external stakeholders and briefing freelancers directly.
About you
At least 2 years’ editing experience in educational publishing (5+ years for Senior Project Editor).
Experience taking projects in-house from manuscript delivery through to completion.
A relevant degree and an editing qualification.
Excellent written English and a sharp eye for detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle several projects and shifting priorities.
Clear, confident communication and the ability to build good working relationships with authors, freelancers and colleagues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
Experience editing primary literacy resources, particularly systematic synthetic phonics.
Knowledge of the Australian education system and international education systems.
Experience using Monday.com for project management
An understanding of digital workflows; XML; and ability/willingness to learn to edit in the backend of digital products
The ability to work independently.
