Job summary

The Grove Academy in Edmondson Park is seeking an experienced ECT Room Leader to guide and mentor a caring team of educators, delivering milestone‑aligned programs and building strong relationships with children and families.

Requirements include a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care, proven leadership, WWCC, and Foundations of Child Safety training (or willingness to complete). We foster a collaborative, child‑safe culture with opportunities for growth and recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care is required.
• Proven leadership of a room and mentoring peers.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF and NQS.
• Experience with child safety responsibilities and reporting.
• WWCC clearance required.

About the Role

As a Room Leader at The Grove Academy, you’ll take on a leadership role in creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment for children and educators. You’ll guide and mentor your team, ensuring exceptional care and education for every child.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of innovative, fun and milestone aligned programs
• Mentoring and supporting educators in their professional growth
• Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and your team
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
• Observing, documenting, and supporting children’s development
• Ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of all children is prioritised at all times
• Actively supervising children and maintaining awareness of risks in the environment
• Reporting any concerns or incidents in line with service policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

• A Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Proven experience leading a room and mentoring educators
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and child development
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• A positive attitude and love for creating memorable experiences
• Strong understanding of child protection responsibilities and mandatory reporting
• Ability to identify and respond to risks to children’s safety
• Completed the Foundations of Child Safety training (or willing to complete prior to commencement)
• Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
