Job summary

City of Boroondara in Melbourne's inner east seeks an Economic Development Officer to provide project support and manage grants, programs and events for local traders and businesses.

You'll coordinate stakeholder engagement, compile reports, and help deliver initiatives that strengthen local economies across Camberwell and surrounding precincts, reporting to the Coordinator Economic Development.

Qualifications

• Experience in project coordination and grants administration.
• Ability to engage with businesses, traders and community stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, delivery and evaluation of economic development projects, programs and events.
• Provide advice and assistance to businesses and business associations.
• Build and maintain relationships with local traders and industry partners.

About the role:

Joining our Local Economies Team, you'll support a range of initiatives that strengthen local shopping centres, trader associations and businesses across Boroondara. Reporting to the Coordinator Economic Development, you'll provide project support, stakeholder engagement and administrative coordination across a variety of economic development programs and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of economic development projects, programs and events.
• Providing advice and assistance to businesses, trader associations and community stakeholders.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with local traders, businesses and industry partners.
• Preparing correspondence, reports, presentations and other business documentation.
• Managing project administration, stakeholder communications and record keeping.
• Responding to enquiries from businesses, residents and trader associations.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team projects.
• Undertaking other duties, projects and initiatives as required to support the objectives of the Economic Development team.

A current National Police Records Check is required. An Employee Working with Children Check may also be required.
