Job summary

City of Monash invites applications for an Economic Development Officer to lead initiatives that strengthen the local economy, attract investment and support business growth. This role focuses on delivering projects that enhance economic resilience and community prosperity.

You will design programs, build partnerships with businesses and government, and provide clear advice and reports to Council. A collaborative, outcomes-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in economic development, communications/graphic design, marketing and events and/or local government program delivery
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Ability to analyse data, monitor outcomes and provide clear advice and reports
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively across diverse groups
• A solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement

• Salary from 6A $102,059 plus Superannuation (pro rata)

The Local Economy and Place team delivers projects and partnerships that strengthen Monash's economy by supporting business growth, attracting investment and create opportunities that support a thriving, inclusive and sustainable local economy.

About the role

You will lead and deliver economic development initiatives that support business growth, investment attraction, industry engagement and workforce participation. Note this is not an economics role.

• Lead economic development programs aligned with Council's Economic Development Strategy
