Job summary

Ecological Solutions Limited on the Central Coast NSW is growing and seeking an experienced ecologist to join early and help shape a tight-knit, growing practice. You’ll lead field surveys and deliver technical reporting for projects across NSW, working closely with the Principal Ecologist and clients, alongside planners and engineers.

You’ll conduct flora and fauna surveys, prepare BDARs and Flora & Fauna Assessments, and other environmental documents, with local and regional travel including

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in ecological consulting or a related field
• Solid NSW flora and fauna identification skills and hands-on survey experience
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation: BC Act, EP&A Act, EPBC Act, NSW BAM
• Clear, concise report writing with track record of delivering quality work on time and within budget
• GIS mapping experience
• Class C licence and willingness to occasional night and regional field work

Responsibilities

• Deliver field surveys and technical reporting for projects across NSW
• Collaborate with Principal Ecologist, planners, engineers and clients
• Produce BDARs, BSAs, Flora and Fauna Assessments, Reviews of Environmental Factors, and Biodiversity Management Plans
• Include pre-clearing surveys and fauna handling as required
• Travel locally and regionally, including occasional night/early morning surveys
• Contribute to shaping the role and growing the team
