Job summary

Queensland Health's Cairns Intensive Care Unit seeks a Clinical Nurse Consultant - ECMO Coordinator to lead the development of a new ECMO service for patients with respiratory or cardiac failure. You will drive nursing leadership, quality improvements and change management across the unit.

You will establish links with QAERS and ensure the service is safely and efficiently set up before clinical start, guiding multidisciplinary teams and sustaining high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Role requires extensive nursing leadership and clinical expertise.
• Experience coordinating ECMO services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the ECMO service within Cairns Hospital.
• Provide nursing leadership that drives system and quality improvements and change management.
• Develop strategic links with QAERS and ensure safe, efficient service establishment prior to clinical start.
