Job summary

The Cairns Intensive Care Unit is recruiting a nurse leader to drive the development of a new ICU service, combining project management with clinical expertise to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. You will lead governance, clinical practice, and change management within the unit.

You will establish strategic links with QAERS and collaborate across Queensland Health to ensure the service is safely established before clinical commencement and ongoing performance improvements.

About us:The Cairns Intensive Care Unit has a funded capacity of 10 ICU1 beds and 6 ICU2 beds. The function of the ICU is to provide intensive therapy to critically ill paediatric and adult patients with single or multi organ failure. As a level 6 ICU, Cairns ICU provides care for most clinical conditions. Specialties such as cardiothoracic, neurosurgery and advance paediatric intensive care may necessitate the transfer of patients to a tertiary centre.We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Far North Queensland by providing high quality acute health care services.Our values were developed by our staff, patients and community.
