Job summary

YMCA Ballarat is seeking a Full-Time Early Years Area Director to lead six services across Maryborough region and Ballarat. You’ll supervise service teams, build relationships with educators and families, and champion high-quality, compliant, financially sustainable education and care.

You’ll work with a supportive leadership group, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, inclusive environments where children thrive.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care OR current qualification in early childhood teaching and current registration with VIT
• A genuine interest in supporting children’s development and commitment to ongoing learning
• Current Working With Children’s Check, First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Great teamwork, communication, and reliability

Responsibilities

• Support play-based learning programs that nurture each child’s growth and development
• Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
• Create safe, inclusive environments where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired
• Work collaboratively with your team to deliver exceptional education and care
