Job summary

The Family Co. in Sydney is seeking an Early Support and Wellbeing Worker to lead the development, delivery and evaluation of early intervention and wellbeing programs for children, young people and families.

You will collaborate with schools, services and community groups to identify needs and strengthen referral pathways. The role requires tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related field, experience delivering group programs, trauma-informed practice, and strong record-keeping.

Qualifications

Job description

The Early Support and Wellbeing Worker is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of a range of early intervention, wellbeing, parenting, and community-based programs that support children, young people, families, schools, and the broader community. The role works collaboratively with stakeholders to identify community needs, deliver evidence-informed programs, strengthen family and community capacity, and improve wellbeing outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate evidence-informed early intervention, wellbeing, parenting, family support and community-based programs for children, young people and families.
• Deliver individual and group-based wellbeing supports, educational programs and early intervention services to children, young people, parents and families.
• Implement and facilitate parenting education programs, family support initiatives, playgroups and community learning opportunities.
• Build collaborative relationships with schools, community organisations, government agencies and other stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and service accessibility.
• Identify emerging community needs and contribute to the development of responsive programs and supports.
• Plan and deliver community education, awareness and engagement activities that promote wellbeing, resilience and positive family outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential client records, program documentation and data systems in accordance with organisational policies, funding requirements and program guidelines.
• Adhere to mandatory child protection obligations and respond appropriately to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on program outcomes, participation trends and service impact to support quality improvement and organisational objectives.
• Collect, analyse and utilise data to measure outcomes, inform service delivery and demonstrate program effectiveness.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Work or relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues impacting children, young people and families, and the ability to respond effectively to complex needs.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of group programs, educational workshops or community-based initiatives.
• Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply trauma-informed and strengths-based practice approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with schools, community organisations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate client records, data collection systems and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to utilise evidence, outcomes and data to inform service delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• High-level digital literacy, including experience using client management systems, Microsoft Office applications, online platforms and social media.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent and promote The Family Co. to community members, schools, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Current Working with Children check and Police check required.
