Job summary

ECTARC Wallaroo Education and Care Service in Shellharbour is offering an Early Childhood Traineeship for 18 months to complete a Certificate III in Early Education and Care. You’ll work with qualified educators, gain hands-on experience, and receive ongoing mentoring in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key requirements include being 18+, a genuine interest in working with young children, WWC clearance (or willingness to obtain), National Safety Training, and First Aid certification.

• Commitment to undertaking the practical and theoretical components of the program.
• Working with Children Check clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Complete the mandatory National Child Safety Training.
• National Criminal Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012).

Responsibilities

• Learn and work alongside qualified educators to complete your Certificate III in Early Education and Care.
• Gain knowledge and experience in early childhood education during the 18‑month traineeship.
• Participate in routine center activities and support children’s learning and development.

About the Role

ECTARC Wallaroo is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic trainee who is looking to start their career in early childhood education. During the 18-month traineeship you will gain valuable knowledge and experience whilst working and studying alongside our qualified and supportive educators to complete your Certificate III in Early Education and Care.

• A current Working with Children Check clearance number (or be willing to obtain)
• Complete the mandatory National Child Safety Training
• National Crime Check (or be willing to obtain)
• Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 – Provide emergency First Aid in an education and care setting)

About the Service

ECTARC Wallaroo is a 44-place service providing early childhood education and care for children from birth to school age in Shellharbour on the traditional land of the Dharawal peoples.

We are within walking distance of Nazareth Primary School, Shellharbour Library, local shopping centre and Elanora Nursing Home, creating many opportunities for our children to get involved with our local community.

Wallaroo provides an inclusive environment that welcomes all children and their families.
