Job summary

Rise & Shine Kindergarten is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to lead the design and delivery of the kindergarten's educational program in Maroochydore. You will ensure inclusive, play-based learning that builds social, emotional, language and literacy skills in a safe environment.

You will programme, assess and document under EYLF and ensure compliance with NQF/NQS. You will mentor educators and work closely with families to support each child's development and milestones.

Qualifications

• Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and QCT registration.
• Minimum one year of experience as an Early Childhood Teacher.
• Blue Card clearance or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

About the Position

About the Position The Early Childhood Teacher will lead the design and delivery of the kindergarten's educational program.

The role ensures that every child has access to inclusive, play-based learning experiences that build their social, emotional, cognitive, language and literacy skills in a safe and stimulating environment. As the qualified teacher within the service, the position is responsible for programming, assessment and documentation under the Early Years Learning Framework and for keeping practice compliant with the National Quality Framework.

The teacher will also guide and mentor the educator team and work closely with families to support each child's progress and developmental milestones. The role is central to the quality of education and care the service delivers to the children and families of the Maroochydore community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and evaluate inclusive, play-based learning programs that foster each child's development and reflect their interests, strengths and needs. Create and maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment that supports children's social, emotional and cognitive growth. Observe, assess and document children's learning and development, and use this documentation to inform ongoing curriculum planning.
• Promote language and literacy development through storytelling, role play, songs and other interactive learning experiences. Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues to enhance learning outcomes and a sense of belonging. Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, needs and developmental milestones, and work with them on shared goals for learning.
• Ensure the educational program and daily practice comply with the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard, the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Early Years Learning Framework. Lead, guide and mentor educators to maintain high-quality early childhood education and care, modelling best practice in teaching, programming and interactions with children.
• Contribute to the service's quality improvement planning, critical reflection and self-assessment against the National Quality Standard. Uphold child protection, health, hygiene and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. A Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• At least one year of experience as an Early Childhood Teacher. Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers and a current
• Working with Children (Blue Card) clearance, or eligibility to obtain both. Sound working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Proven ability to plan, document and evaluate play-based educational programs, and to observe and assess children's learning. Understanding of child protection obligations, and of health, safety and wellbeing practices in an education and care setting. Competence with digital programming and family communication platforms, and with general computer applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues. Leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and motivate an educator team. A patient, caring and inclusive approach, with sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Availability to work full time, 38 hours per week, across the service's operating hours.
