Job summary

TJ'S Po Boy is seeking a passionate and reliable Casual Cook to join our kitchen team at Sydney fish market. You'll work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the wider kitchen crew to ensure smooth and efficient running across restaurant service and events.

We value someone with kitchen experience, who stays calm under pressure, is focused on quality and presentation, and is flexible with shifts including breakfast, lunch and weekend dinners.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Passion for food, hospitality and presentation.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible availability.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
• Work across breakfast, lunch and weekend services.
• Assist with preparation and service during busy periods.
• Support the kitchen team with weddings, functions and events.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to venue standards.
• Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards.
• Keep workstations clean, organised and well maintained.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and general kitchen organisation.
• Work efficiently and collaboratively during service.
• Assist with cleaning and closing-down procedures as required.
• Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen environment.
