Job summary

Transit Rooftop Bar in Melbourne CBD is reopening under Transport Hotel and seeks a confident Duty Manager to lead service, guest experiences, and staff on the floor. You’ll work with management to ensure seamless operations and an inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to return.

Every shift requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a passion for food, wine and great hospitality in a busy venue with a vibrant culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or senior hospitality role.
• Strong service and operational experience.
• Passion and knowledge for food, wine, cocktails and all things hospitality.
• Good understanding of F&B with curiosity to learn, taste and discover what's next.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team during service and keep things running smoothly.
• Deliver a warm, engaging and memorable guest experience.
• Be hands-on on the floor and lead by example.
• Keep an eye on the details - music, lighting, atmosphere, presentation and team energy.
• Train, coach and have a bit of fun along the way - helping the team become better, more confident hospo professionals.
• Assist with opens, closes and day-to-day venue operations.

DUTY MANAGER - TRANSIT ROOFTOP BAR - MELBOURNE CBD

The Place

Transit Rooftop Bar is about to reopen following an amazing renovation - and we're looking for confident, energetic Duty Managers to be part of the next chapter.

Set high above the city with incredible views across Melbourne and the Yarra River, Transit is all about great drinks, great food, music, atmosphere and a team that genuinely enjoys what they do.

The Role

As a Duty Manager you'll be right in the middle of the action - leading service, looking after guests and making sure the venue feels as good as it looks.

You'll work closely with the management team to deliver a seamless service, lead by example and help create the atmosphere that makes people want to come back.

You'll be hands-on, confident and comfortable making decisions on the floor, directing the team and jumping in wherever needed.
