Job summary

Woods & Co Recruitment is partnering with a well-established pub in South Yarra, Melbourne, seeking an experienced Duty / Shift Manager for a full-time role. You will lead a team of 10–15 staff, oversee functions and events, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations until close.

The role offers a full-time, five-day week, with Sunday/Monday or Monday/Tuesday off, and a salary of $75,000–$80,000 + super. RSA and availability for full-time shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Previous Duty Manager, Shift Manager, Assistant Venue Manager or similar hospitality experience
• Strong background in pubs, bars, hotels or high-volume hospitality, with restaurant experience
• Previous functions and events experience is highly desirable
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of 10–15 staff
• Confident working busy services, handling issues and making decisions under pressure
• Comfortable with late-night trade and 3am closes
• Current RSA and full-time availability

• Take ownership of the day-to-day running of your shift and ensure the venue operates smoothly
• Lead, support and manage a team of 10–15 staff across busy service periods
• Oversee food and beverage service, functions and events across the venue
• Coordinate staff and ensure the team is set up for successful service
• Handle customer issues and maintain high standards of service and presentation
• Complete late-night closes and ensure the venue is properly shut down
• Work closely with senior management to maintain strong operational standards

We’re looking for an experienced Duty / Shift Manager to join the team full-time and take charge of the shift.

Leading a team of 10–15, you’ll keep service moving, oversee functions and make sure the venue is running at its best through to close.
