Job summary

Capalaba Sports Club in Capalaba, QLD, is seeking a Duty Manager to lead the frontline team and oversee daily operations. You will ensure exceptional service for members and guests, manage shifts, and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires 2+ years in a similar leadership position, strong people skills, cash handling experience, and current RSA/RSG/RMLV licences plus an Approved Manager's Licence (Queensland).

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Duty Manager, hospitality leadership or venue operations role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• A sound understanding of licensing and gaming legislation.
• Proven experience in cash handling, banking and reconciliation.
• TAB and Keno experience.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Flexible availability across a 7-day roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue during your shift
• Leading, supporting and motivating frontline team members
• Managing shifts and ensuring consistently high customer service standards
• Handling cash, banking, safe reconciliation and till balancing
• Managing incidents, complaints and customer concerns in a professional and appropriate manner
• Ensuring compliance with RSA, RSG, AML/CTF, WH&S and all relevant venue policies and procedures
• Monitoring venue presentation, service standards and operational requirements
• Working collaboratively with Managers and Supervisors across the venue
• Supporting and contributing to a positive, respectful and inclusive team culture
• Assisting with the resolution of operational issues and ensuring a high-quality experience for members and guests
