The YMCA Victoria Bendigo Centre is hiring a Casual Duty Manager to lead centre operations during shifts, ensuring safety and exceptional service for the community. You will act as a role model, coordinate staff, and maintain the Emergency Action Plan while delivering welcoming experiences for users.

Ideal candidates hold aquatic lifeguard qualifications (certificate and license), CPR and First Aid, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certificates and CPR/First Aid qualifications are required.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise centre operations.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of users, including children.

About the Centre

The Peter Krenz Leisure Centre and Bendigo East Swimming pool are proudly managed by the YMCA on behalf of the City of Greater Bendigo. We’re looking for enthusiastic team members to join us across both sites, helping create welcoming and inclusive environments where the community can stay active, have fun and enjoy being in and around the water.About the role

As a Duty Manager, you will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager, and will maintain a broad knowledge of centre programs and services whilst at the same time managing a range of centre functions whilst on shift which may include;

• Maintaining a focus on ‘Big Picture’ issues Centre wide
• Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Centre’s Emergency Action Plan
• Working autonomously as well as being an active leader

This is a casual position and the hourly rate is $42.34 + superannuation + Y benefits.

This role will have varied shifts across our 7 day a week operation including early mornings, evenings and weekend work requirements.

About you

As a Duty Manager you will act as positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities, as well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.

Essential Qualifications

• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Pool Lifeguard License
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
