Job summary

Dune Café on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Barista to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume coffee environment while delivering exceptional customer service. If you take pride in crafting great coffee and remain calm during the morning rush, we want you on our friendly team.

You'll prepare and serve espresso drinks quickly, operate commercial machines, handle payments via POS, and keep a clean, well-stocked station.

Qualifications

• Barista with at least 1 year in a high-volume cafe.
• Ability to produce consistent, high-quality coffee quickly (espresso, milk texturing, latte art).
• Strong time management to keep queues moving.
• Team player, reliable and helpful to others.
• Clear, friendly communication with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee quickly during peak periods.
• Operate espresso machines and grinders.
• Take orders and process payments with the POS.

$33.85 per hour (Monday to Friday), $40.62 (Saturday), $47.39 (Sunday)

Adult rate - 20 years and over. Junior rates apply.

Dune Café is situated in the Palm Beach Parklands, overlooking the beautiful Currumbin Creek, offering great, friendly service, entertainment and exceptional food and beverage.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages quickly and consistently, even during busy peak periods
• Operate and maintain commercial espresso machines and grinders
• Take orders and process payments accurately using the POS system
• Deliver friendly, attentive service to every customer, building rapport with regulars
• Keep the coffee station and service area clean, stocked, and organised throughout the shift
• Work closely with the wider café team to keep service flowing smoothly during rushes
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

About You

• Must be an experienced Barista with at least one year experience, in a high-volume cafe
• Be able to prepare consistent, high-quality coffee (espresso extraction, milk texturing/latte art) at speed
• Strong time management to keep queues moving during peak periods
• Be a team player, who is dedicated, reliable and willing to help others
• Possess clear communication skills with customers and team members, along with a friendly positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Perform heavy lifting and repetitive manual tasks
• Be available to work a variety of shifts including early mornings (from as early as 5.30am), days, weekendsand public holidays
