Job summary

Australian Red Cross in Derrimut near Melbourne is seeking a dedicated warehouse operator to join our expanding Operations team. This permanent full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:06pm, handling stock movement, loading/unloading, and dispatch tasks within the Distribution Centre.

You will work with the Operations Team Leader and Logistics to keep the facility running efficiently, requiring LR and forklift licences, plus experience with MS Office and inventory systems.

Qualifications

• Experience operating high reach and counter-balance forklifts.
• Experience unloading/loading trucks and vans.
• Ability to carton pick, pack and dispatch.
• Strong attention to detail and maintain a manual inventory system.
• Knowledge of pallet/stillage control.
• Experience driving a small truck or van in metro and regional Melbourne.
• Light Rigid Licence and forklift licence mandatory.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Team Leader and work with Merchandise Sorting and Logistics to keep the distribution centre running efficiently.
• Move stock within the Distribution Centre and assist with collection/delivery to depots and partners.

About the role

As our Derrimut Distribution Centre continues to grow, we are now expanding our Operations workforce. Join a team of 30+ staff and volunteers responsible for the day-to-day movement of stock within the Distribution Centre, along with the delivery and collection of donations from depots and retail partners.

In this role, you will support the Operations Team Leader and work closely with the Merchandise Sorting and Logistics teams to help keep our national distribution facility running efficiently.

What you will bring

• Demonstrated experience in confidently operating a high reach & counter-balance forklift
• Experience in unloading or loading trucks and vans
• Ability to perform a carton pick, pack and dispatch process
• High attention to detail with the ability to organise and maintain a manual inventory storage system
• Knowledge and experience in pallet/stillage control
• Experience driving a small truck or van in metro and regional areas for stock collection and delivery (knowledge of Melbourne CBD and surrounding suburbs an advantage)
• Light Rigid Licence
• Comfortable navigating and utilizing various computer systems and applications such Microsoft Suite and Inventory Management Systems.

Please note

A current and valid Light Rigid (LR) licence and a current and valid forklift licence are mandatory requirements for this role.

This role is covered by the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020 - Level 2. Salary from $58,515.60 / annum + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
