Job summary

Sims Limited in Albury, NSW is seeking an HC Driver to support the scrap metal recycling operations. You will collect materials at customer sites, operate a truck-mounted crane, and work to keep safety, quality, and environmental standards at the forefront.

You will engage with customers and management, follow the daily plan, and may operate additional equipment where licensed. This role offers ongoing training and opportunities to contribute to a zero-waste, circular economy at Sims Limited.

Qualifications

• A current HC Driver Licence is required.
• High levels of customer service, good communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team.
• A can-do attitude and willingness to undertake training to diversify skills.
• Forklift and/or WTR tickets are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Collect scrap metal from customer sites in a timely manner.
• Communicate with management to identify on-site concerns (OHS, environmental, collection).
• Follow a daily work plan aligned with safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Operate a truck-mounted crane to collect scrap metal from customer sites.
• Operate additional mobile plant/equipment (forklift, excavator) where licensed.
• Participate in continuous improvement and other programs as required.

HC Driver

A hands-on driving role that goes beyond getting from A to B

You'll work directly with customers, and play a key role in collecting and recycling scrap metal, combining skilled equipment operation with purpose-driven work in the circular economy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring efficient service to customers by collecting scrap metal in a timely manner
• Communicating with management to identify any on-site concerns regarding OHS, environmental, or collection issues arising
• Following a daily work plan for routine collections, our site safety, environmental, and quality procedures
• Operating a truck mounted crane to collect scrap metal from customer sites.
• Operating any additional mobile plant/equipment (forklift, excavator, etc. where licensed) to assist with collection/loading.
• Participate in various continuous improvement and other programs as required.

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

• A current HC Driver Licence.
• High levels of customer service, good communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment.
• A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
• Forklift and/or WTR tickets highly regarded
