Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking an experienced HC Driver based at the St Marys Yard in Australia. You will collect and transport scrap metal safely, follow schedules, and maintain vehicles while delivering high levels of customer service.

Applicants should hold an HC licence with Roadranger experience, plus prior heavy vehicle driving experience in related sectors. A strong safety focus and reliability are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Current HC Licence is essential.
• Experience operating Roadranger transmissions and manual gearboxes is essential.
• Previous heavy vehicle driving experience in a transport, recycling, waste, logistics, or related environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport scrap metal safely and efficiently between customer sites and Sims Metal facilities.
• Follow daily work schedules and assigned transport routes.
• Conduct vehicle pre-start inspections and ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with all road laws, site requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a high level of customer service when interacting with customers and stakeholders.
• Report safety concerns, incidents, vehicle defects, and customer issues promptly.
• Represent Sims Metal professionally as the face of the business.

We're looking for an experienced HC Driver who takes pride in their work, enjoys being on the road, and is committed to working safely. If you're reliable, customer-focused, and have experience operating Roadranger and manual gearbox vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.

Based out of our St Marys Yard, this role offers the opportunity to work with a well-established and growing business in the recycling sector, where no two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing

• Semi tipper experience.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable work ethic with a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
