Kennards Hire is seeking a Driver - Permanent at the Gold Coast branch. You will manage pickups and deliveries, advise customers on safe equipment use, and ensure gear is ready for hire. The role links branches with customers and projects, delivering a day-to-day service that keeps job sites moving.

The position supports training and development, with potential career growth within a leading Australian equipment hire company. A strong customer service ethos and physical capability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, construction, hospitality, retail or driving.
• Valid LR/MR driver's licence preferred but not essential.
• Available Monday–Friday and Saturdays.
• Physically capable with lifting and standing for long periods; pass a drug test.
• Proactive and eager to learn new skills.
• Interest in machinery; training provided.
• Positive attitude and team player.

Responsibilities

• Instruct customers on safe use of equipment and operate vehicle for pickups and deliveries.
• Perform safe loading and unloading of equipment at customer sites.
• Provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain equipment condition through regular servicing and minor repairs.
• Clean branch facilities and perform equipment inspections.
• Conduct equipment check-in/check-out inspections.

About the role
As the Kennards Hire representative to our customers, we support you with the training and development you need to be successful in your role. The Driver is the critical link between a Kennards Hire branch, our customers and their projects, big or small. You’ll be in charge of everything that makes our customers’ job easy; expert advice, pickups, deliveries and making sure our equipment is ready for hire.
This role requires you to;

• Instruct and demonstrate to customers on how to safely use our equipment.
• As the Driver, perform pickup and delivery of equipment from customer sites, which includes safely loading and unloading of equipment
• Provide exceptional customer service in all customer interactions
• Maintain the high standard and quality ofequipment through regular servicing and minor repairs.
• Perform cleaning of branch facilities and maintenance of equipment as required
• Perform equipment ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ inspections

About you

• Successful applicants have come from various backgrounds such as; Customer service, building & construction, hospitality, retail, driver, landscaping, trade & maintenance.
• A valid LR/MR driver's licence preferred, however not essential
• Available across Monday-Friday and Saturday's
• This role requires some physical components including lifting and standing on your feet for long periods. A level of physical fitness is required and the ability to pass a drug test
• Be proactive and keen to learn new skills
• An interest in machinery and equipment, although training will be provided
• A positive attitude and team player
