Job summary

Coates is seeking a permanent full-time Heavy Vehicle Driver based at our Brooklyn branch, Melbourne area. The role involves safe delivery and pickup of equipment, securing loads, and maintaining storage knowledge to support efficient retrieval.

You will operate tilt-tray and related machinery and perform yard duties to uphold safety standards. The position offers an on-site role with a Monday–Friday roster and a 6am start, plus attractive hourly rates with overtime penalty rates.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid heavy vehicle driver's license and related licences (EWP over 11m, CN or TV, forklift licences regarded).
• Experience loading and unloading equipment with correct restraint.
• Clean driving record and commitment to safety – chain of responsibility.
• Reliable customer service skills and basic technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver or pick up equipment to and from various site locations.
• Secure freight load to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment storage and location for efficient retrieval.
• Operate equipment on and off tilt trays (boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, excavators, rollers).
• Perform general yard duties with an organized, safe yard.

This role, based out of our Brooklyn branch is often the face of Coates and requires exceptionalcustomer service and professionalism, as well as working to tight deadlines and ensuring and maintaining a high standard of safety.

• Safe, professional and timely delivery/pick up of equipment to and from various site locations.
• Effectively secure freight load to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment storage and location to ensure efficient retrieval.
• Operate and manoeuvre equipment on and off a tilt tray e.g. boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, excavators, rollers.
• Perform general yard duties ensuring an organised and safe yard.
