Job summary

The Impax Group in Dubbo, NSW is seeking a Drillers Assistant to support our drilling team in the natural resources and water sector. You will help set up, operate and maintain drilling equipment alongside experienced drillers, contributing to safe and efficient project delivery.

This role requires practical hands-on ability, a focus on safety, and good communication to work with the crew. A current driver's license is essential, and willingness to obtain a Heavy Vehicle license if needed;

Qualifications

• Some previous drilling experience is desired, or willingness to learn.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication to work with the drilling team.
• Flexibility for rotating roster, including weekends/public holidays; remote within NSW on 2/1 roster at times.
• Current driver's license essential; Heavy Vehicle license desired or willingness to obtain.
• Reside in the Dubbo region or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

As a Drillers Assistant, you will be an integral part of executing critical drilling operations and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

What you'll be doing

• Assist experienced drillers in setting up, operating and maintaining drilling equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on drilling rigs and associated tools
• Monitor drilling operations and report any issues or concerns to the driller
• Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed during drilling activities
• Contribute to the efficient and timely completion of drilling projects
• Actively participate in team meetings and provide feedback to improve processes

What we're looking for

• Some previous experience is in drilling is desired, or have a willingness to learn
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate heavy machinery
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with the drilling team
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays and the ability to work remotely within NSW on 2/1 roster at times.
• A current driver's license is essential, Heavy Ridged license is desired or have the willingness to obtain.
• Reside in the Dubbo region or ability to relocate for this role.
