Job summary

Impact Drill & Blast is expanding its North Queensland operations and seeks a skilled Driller to join a team focused on integrated drill and blast services across civil, mining and quarrying sectors. The role emphasizes precision drilling, safety, and reliable reporting in remote work environments.

You will work with rigs such as Sandvik DPi or Pantera, maintain logs, and contribute to maintaining equipment and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in blast hole drilling or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain logs.

Responsibilities

• Execute column and collar drill holes with precision drilling.
• Maintain daily drill logs, perform pre-start checks and manage time sheets.
• Cultivate a safety-centric approach while meeting production forecasts.
• Utilise safety tools such as Take 5 assessments and SWMS.
• Maintain rigs in excellent condition, clean and ready for operation.
• Diligent reporting of maintenance issues and keep records of consumables.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute column and collar drill holes with precision drilling, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
• Maintain meticulous daily drill logs, perform pre-start checks, and manage time sheets efficiently.
• Cultivate a safety-centric approach while surpassing production forecasts.
• Regularly utilize safety tools such as Take 5 assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
• Maintaining rigs in impeccable condition, ensuring they are clean, organized, and primed for operation.
• Diligent reporting of maintenance issues and meticulous record-keeping of consumables.

The successful applicant will have:

• Prior experience in blast hole drilling operations or a strong desire to learn and grow in this field.
• Possession of a Certificate III in Drilling Operations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Sandvik DPi or Pantera rigs is preferred.
• Proven track record of thriving in remote work environments.
• Ability to obtain national police check clearance and possess a current Australian Open Class Manual Drivers License.
