Job summary

NSW Resources, part of the NSW Department of Primary Industries, is seeking an Operations Officer to supervise the E.C. Andrews Drill Core Facility in Broken Hill.

The role covers core preparation, viewing, visitor access and general maintenance, with a focus on safe handling and archival management of drill cores. You will liaise with industry, landholders and regulators to deliver high quality services and contribute to exploration programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in the mining industry, exploration and drilling.
• Knowledge of drill core handling and operating procedures in core yards.
• Safe management of equipment and regional expertise is valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility operations at the Broken Hill Drill Core Facility.
• Supervise archival drill core collection and ensure preservation and accessibility.
• Liaise with industry, landholders, government agencies and the community to provide technical services and advice.
• Provide drill core expertise to support exploration programs and collaborate with geoscientists.
