Job summary

HVO Hunter Valley Operations in the NSW Hunter Valley is seeking an experienced Drill & Blast Engineer to lead safe and efficient blasting designs on site. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you’ll apply technical expertise to optimise blast outcomes while considering environmental and community impacts.

You’ll collaborate with Tech Services and external stakeholders, develop design standards, and contribute to continuous improvement through new drill & blast technologies and processes.

Qualifications

• tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in drill & blast in mining or civil projects.
• Strong problem solving, planning and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise to improve and optimise drill & blast processes on site.
• Produce designs that promote safe and efficient mining of waste & coal.
• Engagement within Tech Services and external stakeholders.
• Apply and improve quality control processes for all drill & blast activities.
• Design and analyse blasting performance throughout the mining cycle.
• Ad hoc project work and implementation of new drill & blast technologies.
