Job summary

Glencore Australia is seeking a confident Drill & Blast Engineer to join our high-performing Hunter Valley team. You will work on safe, well-fragmented blast designs and support development towards technical leadership.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will handle a range of blasting environments and contribute to environmental and safety considerations while progressing through structured technical pathways.

Qualifications

• Degree or demonstrated practical experience in Mining or Civil Engineering.
• Experience with drill and blast processes desirable.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and implement blast designs.

Responsibilities

• Improve and optimise drill & blast processes on site.
• Produce designs for safe and efficient mining of waste and coal.
• Engage with Tech Services and external stakeholders.
• Apply quality control for all drill & blast activities.
• Consider environmental restrictions in designs.
• Analyse blasting performance across the mining cycle.
• Undertake ad hoc projects and new drill & blast tech implementations.
