Job summary

WorkPac is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for a major dredging project on Groote Eylandt. These roles suit reliable, safety‑conscious candidates with civil construction, mining or earthworks experience who can work hands‑on on site.

Operators must handle 30T–90T machines, with 50T+ experience highly regarded, and multi‑skill capable across loaders and Moxy trucks. GPS‑guided and long‑reach excavators are valued; duties include pre‑start checks and safe operation.

Qualifications

• Previous civil construction/mining/earthworks experience in heavy industry environments.
• Experience operating 30T–90T excavators; 50T+ highly regarded.
• Multi-skilled with excavators, loaders and Moxy trucks is advantageous.
• GPS excavator experience is highly regarded; long-reach capability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dredging operations, earthworks and general project activities.
• Operate HC trucks and assist with labouring duties as required.
• Operate excavators 30T–90T depending on position.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently per site procedures.
• Assist with loading, unloading and moving materials and equipment.
• Follow GPS guidance, survey information and site instructions.
• Undertake additional labouring or multi-skilled duties as required.
• Complete pre-start inspections and report faults or safety concerns.
