Job summary

The Maker Designer Kitchens, part of the ABN Group, seeks an experienced Drafting Manager to lead the drafting team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Pre-Production Manager, you will guide drafting across project builders, retail, renovations and development projects from our WA operations.

You will champion high-quality drafting, drive efficiency, and collaborate with Production, Installation and Management to meet KPIs and deliverables, shaping the future of our cabinetry

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within drafting, manufacturing, construction, cabinetry or a related industry.
• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High attention to detail and quality focus, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making capability in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Pre-Production Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to the Drafting team, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality drafting services across project builders, retail, renovation, display home and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Drafting team, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management and succession planning to build capability, accountability and a high-performing team culture.
• Drive operational performance and quality outcomes, ensuring drafting standards, accuracy, consistency and departmental KPIs are achieved across all project streams.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance drafting systems, processes and workflows to improve efficiency, productivity and service delivery.
• Provide technical and operational leadership, resolving complex drafting, design and workflow issues while supporting the team in the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business, acting as the primary link between Drafting, Production, Installation and Management teams to ensure effective communication, alignment and timely execution of actions and objectives.
