BlueGum Granny Flats is seeking a skilled Draftsperson to join our architectural drafting team on a full-time basis. Based in Padstow, NSW 2211, this role is central to delivering high-quality architectural drawings and technical documentation for granny flat construction projects.

You will translate design concepts into detailed, compliant drawings that guide construction teams and satisfy regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven architectural drafting experience with CAD proficiency.

BlueGum Granny Flats is seeking a skilled Draftsperson to join our architectural drafting team on a full-time basis. Based in Padstow, NSW 2211, this role is central to delivering high-quality architectural drawings and technical documentation for our granny flat construction projects. You will play a vital part in translating design concepts into detailed, compliant drawings that guide our construction teams and satisfy regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to specialise in a growing residential construction sector whilst contributing to meaningful projects that enhance families' living arrangements.

Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed architectural drawings and technical documentation for granny flat projects, including floor plans, elevations, sections and construction details

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, planning regulations and local council requirements in NSW

Collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues

Incorporate client feedback and design modifications into updated drawing sets in a timely manner

Maintain accurate and organised drawing files and documentation systems

Prepare tender and specification documents to support construction procurement processes

Conduct site visits when required to verify site conditions and ensure drawing accuracy

Utilise CAD software and other digital tools to produce professional-standard drawings

Support the team with quality assurance checks to ensure drawings are accurate, complete and consistent

What we're looking for

Proven experience in architectural drafting, with demonstrated competency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD or similar platforms)

Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, planning regulations and residential construction standards

Experience producing construction documentation, technical drawings and specification documents

Familiarity with granny flat design, secondary dwelling approvals or residential extensions is highly desirable

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, professional-quality drawings

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital file management systems

A relevant qualification in architectural drafting, technician level architecture or equivalent practical experience

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet project deadlines
