Job summary

STP Trading & Construction Pty Ltd in Padstow NSW is seeking an Architectural Draftsperson to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. You will translate design intent into detailed drawings and documentation for construction projects.

Working closely with architects, engineers and site managers, you will produce floor plans, elevations, sections and construction details using CAD software, conduct site measurements, and help maintain documentation within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s qualification in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Strong technical CAD skills and ability to interpret building plans and codes.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with architects, builders and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications, design briefs, building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, revise and maintain detailed architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction details and specifications.
• Assist architects, construction managers and other project consultants with planning, design coordination and documentation.
• Take and document site measurements and existing conditions for incorporation into drawings.
• Coordinate drawing revisions, schedules and documentation required throughout the project.

About the Position: The Architectural Draftsperson role supports the company’s construction projects by producing accurate technical drawings and documentation. Working closely with architects, construction managers and consultants, the position ensures design intent is clearly translated into detailed plans that guide construction, contributing directly to efficient project coordination and successful on-site delivery.

Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications, design briefs, building codes and relevant planning and regulatory requirements. Prepare, revise and maintain detailed architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, construction details and specifications.

Assist architects, construction managers and other project consultants with planning, design coordination and preparation of architectural documentation. Take and document site measurements, dimensions and existing building conditions for incorporation into architectural drawings and plans. Undertake routine calculations and compile dimensional and technical information for use in architectural drafting and construction documentation.

Prepare and update preliminary sketches, working drawings and other technical documentation using CAD and related drafting software. Coordinate drawing revisions, documentation schedules and architectural information required throughout the project. Liaise with builders, contractors and consultants to clarify architectural drawings, design details and documentation requirements.

Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Bachelor’s qualification in a related field.

Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience. Strong technical skills in CAD and architectural drafting software, accurate interpretation of plans and building codes, attention to detail, and the ability to produce clear, coordinated documentation. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with architects, builders, contractors and consultants, plus the ability to work collaboratively within project teams and manage documentation under project timelines.
