Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood in Maitland, NSW is hiring a Nursing Assistant to support donor processes with paid training provided. You will greet donors, perform screenings, and set up/operate collection equipment across a rotating roster from Monday to Saturday.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience is essential.
• Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials.
• Ability to occasionally lift between 9-22.7 kg.
• Willing to work a rotating, varied shift pattern including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility.
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up donation machines and collections equipment.
• Insert and remove needles to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking.
