Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood in Southport (QLD) is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver exceptional donor care. You will greet donors, conduct eligibility checks, and support the donation process with a friendly, patient-first approach.

No prior blood collection experience is required as paid training blends hands-on practice with online learning. The role involves rotating shifts across Monday to Sunday, with weekend work and afternoon hours, plus penalties and the benefits package

Qualifications

• Must have customer-facing experience.
• Comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials.
• Willing to work a rotating roster including weekends and afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility.
• Create a donor experience they'll love and ensure safety checks.
• Set up machines and collections equipment.
• Insert and remove needles to collect blood components.
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking.
• Collaborate to achieve collection targets.
