Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action VIC in Alpine VIC is seeking a District Forest and Fire Planning Officer to guide planning for on-ground forest and fire management across Victoria. You will join a team of planning specialists to develop plans for fuels, roading, recreation and forest health programs.

The role focuses on problem-solving, data analysis and collaboration with operational teams and stakeholders to turn ideas into practical outcomes.

Qualifications

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
An ability to analyse information and solve problems.
A collaborative approach and willingness to work with a range of stakeholders.
A passion for public land, environmental management, forestry, fire management or similar fields.
Experience in land, fuel, road, recreation or environmental management programs will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of planning specialists to develop the plans that guide on-ground forest and fire management activities across Victoria.
From planned burns and fuel management to roading, recreation and forest health programs, your work will help ensure the right projects are delivered in the right places.
Collaborate with operational teams and stakeholders to turn ideas into practical outcomes.
